Vegetable Gardening
Vegetable Gardening is a way to make sure your vegetables are free of pesticides and fresh. You can grow tomatoes from seeds or buy the plants. All plants need water and good soil to grow strong.
There is nothing quite like having fresh food from your own efforts while vegetable gardening. When you are vegetable gardening, most are easy to grow, especially if you get them started as seedlings instead of from seeds. All plants have different planting times and harvesting times.
If you are new to vegetable gardening, you migh want to start with growing tomatoes. Tomatoes are the easiest of all to grow and can be started as seeds or as plants. Most people who grow tomatoes grow a variety of different types. There are many types of tomatoes you can grow that give off this delicious fruit. Tomatoes are usually planted in April or May. There are some varieties that can be planted later in the season, some as late as July. If you are planning on planting tomatoes or any other plants while vegetable gardening, make sure that you know when the planting and harvesting times are. If you are unsure, you can usually discover this information by paying a visit to your local garden shop. The Upside Down Tomato Garden. You are going to want to make sure that the soil is clean and non toxic when you are vegetable gardening. You should get several bags of soil that contains no toxic chemicals and is all organic for your vegetable garden. If you are planning on planting tomatoes, you are going to want to get some tomato cages as well. The reason for this is that tomatoes are vine plants and will lay on the ground if you do not continue to hold them up into the cages as they grow. Some people use wooden stakes. You can fasten the vines to the cages with twist ties. Remember that the food that you grow when vegetable gardening is going on your table. You are not going to want to have any toxins in the plants at all. This means no pesticides which are dangerous for you to use as well as for the plants. If you are worried about keeping rabbits away, use netting or an organic spray that will emulate cat or dog urine that will keep the other animals at bay. One way to keep the rabbits away is to spread kitty litter around your plot. If you own a cat, before you dispose of her litter, spread some around the area as well as the flower garden. The scent will discourage rabbits from eating the leaves and fruit. You are going to have to watch, when vegetable gardening, to make sure that they are hydrated properly, especially during the doldrums of July and parts of August. Water them regularly and use good fertilizer in the soil in which they are planted and they will grow large. You will first notice small flowering which is the beginning of the growing process. By August, you should be able to get some of the first tomatoes from your efforts at vegetable gardening. Other vegetables are usually harvested around the end of August and early September. Some tomato plants that are planted early in your efforts at vegetable gardening can be harvested as early as late June or July.
