First thing you will want to consider is to think about if you want it to be made of masonry or plastic. Most of the time, stone or masonry fountains are more durable compared to plastic fountains.  However, they are undeniably more expensive so you have to be prepared to spend more on a stone one than a plastic one. Masonry fountains can also be a wall fountains or built up fountains. They are available in many different finishes such as sandstone, which can add an extravagant appeal to the fountain itself. A good thing about wall fountains is that you can put them in an indoor or outdoor area and you can save space in your area, so they are ideal for a small garden or balcony space.
 
Once you have selected the type material you want for your fountain, the next thing you want to consider is the space availability of your area.
